ABOUT THE YOUTH PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP
The YPW has been part of youth programming in San Angelo Theatre since 2005. We are proud to be working this year's workshop into our mainstage season! Students go through the entire process of the show from auditions to performance. Unique to this workshop is a small teacher-student ratio, intensive work on character and script, music and vocal training, coordination with groups and choreography/movement. Through this process, students gain confidence, problem solving skills and work in a positive and stimulating environment where they are free to explore aspects of their creative selves. In addition, we are a full season theatre with shows throughout the year for adults and children, and it's a great way for the students to see a fully operational non-profit local theatre in action.
HOW CAN STUDENTS JOIN THE YPW?
This workshop requires an audition on August 29. Between 12-20 students will be selected to work with us in the YPW. Workshop days will be Mondays and Thursdays 5:30-7:30pm, and runs August 29 through November 2. Five performances for the public will be held at Be Theatre Nov 3-12. Please see our auditions page to read about the audition process.
(Can be paid at once, or broken into monthly payments Sept, Oct, Nov)
WHAT ARE THE AGES?
Ages 3rd-12th grade are welcome to audition for Dear Edwina, Jr. on Tuesday, August 29 at 6pm. Between 15-20 students will be selected to participate in the YPW for fall 2017.
